Earle has led more than a hundred expeditions and logged more than 7,000 hours underwater, including leading the first team of women aquanauts during the Tektite Project in 1970; participating in ten saturation dives, most recently in July 2012; and setting a record for solo diving in 1,000-meter depth. Her research concerns marine ecosystems with special reference to exploration, conservation, and the development and use of new technologies for access and effective operations in the deep sea and other remote environments.
Her special focus is on developing a global network of areas on the land and in the ocean to safeguard the living systems that provide the underpinnings of global processes, from maintaining biodiversity and yielding basic life support services to providing stability and resiliency in response to accelerating climate change.
Earle’s more than one hundred national and international honors include the 2011 Royal Geographical Society Gold Medal, 2011 Medal of Honor from the Dominican Republic, 2009 TED Prize, Netherlands Order of the Golden Ark, Australia’s International Banksia Award, Italy’s Artiglio Award, the International Seakeepers Award, the International Women’s Forum, the National Women’s Hall of Fame, Academy of Achievement, Los Angeles Times Woman of the Year, and medals from the Explorers Club, the Philadelphia Academy of Sciences, Lindbergh Foundation, National Wildlife Federation, Sigma Xi, Barnard College, and the Society of Women Geographers.
Taken this from national geographic i love this woman!! she is the perfect picture of what i really wanna do and who i wanna be, when i read about her works, i have a thought that this is what an oceanographer does, for people out there who’s questioning about that *i’m not a good example*
Should i write something?? it’s been a while, it’s not like nothing happens, i just try to play it cool ha! but believe me i’m still an over-thinking girl
Never mind, G-Dragon said “I will run free, till this road ends”, this sentence really fits me. I mean i know i still don’t feel that kinda freedom now, i’m still scared of many things, it keeps me away from freedom, but i try real hard to life free, living my way. I talk too often about freedom right? i’m obsessed with it! it’s like i’m trying to unleash myself *here i go again, talking rubbish* kkkkk
You know, the reason why i love GD so much is that he shows me what freedom really is. I mean forget about all the talents he has, everybody knows them very well. I love the feeling when i see him perform on stage, both on TV and concert, small and big stage. I feel like he truly loves what he’s doing, giving all of his energy into every stage, that feeling when you don’t care about anything and just having fun for the moment, such a good feeling right?! The other thing is that he does what he says, you can check him in every interview, you will find out that he always tries to find a way to be the best version of himself and encourages his fans to do the same.
This is not a blind love i guess, to love him this much! I just take the positive feeling and energy from him. Well, to compare myself to him is a bit ridiculous, but sometimes i think i’m left behind, i mean we’re the same age, i’m lacking too much hahaha
But i believe there will be a day when i live my life to the fullest confidently, so i can give some positive energy to people around me. Still from away from that, i’ll try harder :’)
Hang out part 1 B-)
To whom do you want to give the vitamin water that you designed?
Seungri. It's my collaboration so he must drink it and tell me it's delicious though it's not.
